To file into an existing case, please select one of the following options:
FOR MOST STATES
If you already have a case number because either you started the case already or you were served with documents in the case by other parties, then you should follow these steps to file into the case.
- NOTE: The initial filing in the case must be accepted by the court in order to file subsequent filings into the case. If the initial filing has not been accepted by the court yet, then you will not be able to file into the case.
At the Dashboard, click on Start Filing.
Then click on File into Existing Case.
You will need the court location and the case number to find the case and file into it. Sometimes, you can also use the party names to find the case. Click on the Location box, and in the drop down window, select the appropriate court location. Next enter in the Case Number or Party Name. Once the fields are completed, click on Search.

Once the case appears, on the right side, click on the Actions in blue and select File Into Case in the menu..
The File Into button will take you to Case information which should be read only. To learn about each individual section of the filings process. Click the links below:

Once the case appears, on the right side, click on the File Into icon.
There will be Tabs listed at the top of the screen. The Tab highlighted in blue indicates which Tab you are currently on. When eFiling, you will go through each tab and complete required information which will be highlight in red or look for a red triangle.
