A service contact is someone who has elected to be served via email with documents that have been filed into cases. On the e-filing site each person who wants to receive eService needs to add themselves to the service contact list for each case. This will ensure that email notifications can be sent to them when a filing in a case is eFiled & served.
EService is not the same as physical methods of serving the other party or parties the legal paperwork you are filing, like having the paperwork served to them via process server, Constable/Sheriff, or certified mail. For more information on how to apply those methods of physical service to your filing should the court require you to do so, please refer to the following help articles.
Service Contacts will receive email notifications that appear similar to the notification shown below.

If you do not want your email listed on the Case Service Contact, navigate back to the Filings tab and change your Filing type to "eFile Only".
FAQ: If I am starting the case, am I automatically added to the Service Contacts for the case?
Answer: Adding a service contact is a manual action taken by the user. Filing a new case does NOT automatically add your information to the service contacts for the case.
FAQ: Can I add one Service Contact to all my cases at once?
Answer: There is, unfortunately, no function to attach a Service Contact to all cases a person or firm is involved in. You must add a Service Contact to each case the contact needs to receive service notifications for.
FAQ: Do I have to be registered to be added to a case as a Service Contact?
Answer: You do not have to be a registered eFile & Serve user to be added to a case as a Service Contact. However, only a registered user can add you to a case as a Service Contact. We highly recommend registering for an eFile & Serve account and adding yourself to a case; we do not recommend allowing someone else to add you as a Service Contact to a given case, as you would not be able to remove your contact information from that case if you leave that case later.
