Service Only (electronic service by email) Filings can be done for existing cases.
For instructions, please select one of the following options:
FOR MOST STATES
1. At the Dashboard, click on Start Filing. Choose File into Existing case.
2. Select the location and enter the case number, click on Search.
3. When the case appears, click on the blue Actions button on the right of the screen, then select File Into Case.
4. Click on the Filings button at the top. Scroll down the screen and click on +Add Filing.
5. Click the circle for the Filing Type, Service Only. Scroll down the screen to locate the Upload Documents section.
6. Click on Select files to upload your documents.
7. Locate the document, click on the PDF document and select Open.
8. Complete any requied fields marked with a red asterisk*. Click Save at the lower right hand corner.
9. Click on the Service button at the lower right hand corner to continue through the process.
10. On the Service tab, verify that the emails are checked off. Click on the words "Click to Expand" to view all emails.
11. Click on the blue Fees at the lower right hand corner.
12. Complete all fields in red on the Fees tab and click on Summary.
11. On the Summary tab, click on Submit.
NOTE: You will not receive Submitted or Accepted notifications on Service Only filings as they are not sent to the court for processing. To receive a service notification for your service only filing, you would need to select your email as a service contact to receive service. Click here for instructions.
FOR LOUISIANA
1. At the Dashboard, click on Start Filing. Choose File into Existing Case.
2. Select the Location and enter the Case Number, click on Search. You can also search by Party Name.
3. When the case appears, click on the File Into icon on the right of the screen.
4. Click on the Filings tab at the top, in the Filing type box choose Service Only.
5. Scroll down the screen and click on Select Documents.
6. Click on Browse to add your documents.
7. Documents will be listed as Selected. Click Save.
8. Click on the Service button on the lower right hand corner of the screen.
9. On the Service tab, verify that the emails are checked off. Click on the words Click to Expand to view all emails.
10. Click on Fees and complete all required selections. Click Summary to continue.
11. On the Summary tab, click on Submit.
