In Texas, filers can bulk file multiple cases at once via the Bulk Filing feature.
To file into an existing bulk filing, click the blue Start Filing button on the filer dashboard.
Next, click the white Bulk File Cases button in the File Into Existing Case tile at the right of the screen.
Select your court Location in the dropdown menu and give the filing a Bulk Name on the Bulk Filing window that appears. The Bulk Name is a nickname you can give this bulk filing. It can be based on anything from the court location (if you are filing multiple cases into the same court), the case type (if you are filing multiple cases of the same type at once), or anything you prefer.
- NOTE: You may only file into one location at a time.
Once you have selected the Location and Bulk Name, click the blue Continue button to progress through your bulk filing.
To add an existing case to your bulk filing, you can click the Bookmarks Search button to search your bookmarked cases for a case to file into, you can click the Filing History Search button to search your Filing History for a case to add, or you can click the blue Case Search button to find a case to add.
- NOTE: You may only file into five cases in one bulk filing.
In Bookmarks Search, you can search for a case in your bookmarked cases by Location, Case Number, or Description. Click Search to locate a case in your bookmarked cases; you can do this whether you have entered search filters or not.
Once you have located one of your bookmarked cases, click the blank checkbox to the left of the case to checkmark it, then click the blue Proceed button to continue.
Click the blue Add To Bulk button on the next window to add the existing case to your bulk filing.
In Filing History Search, you can search for a case to add to your bulk filing from either your personal filings or from your firm's filings via the Created By dropdown menu. You can also search by Location, Case Number, or Date Range. Once you have located a case, click the blank checkbox to the left of the case to checkmark it, then click the blue Proceed button to continue.
As with the Bookmark Search, click the blue Add To Bulk button on the next window to add the existing case to your bulk filing.
If you click the Case Search button, you may search for an existing case to add to your bulk filing the same way you can search for an individual case to file into as normal. Select your court Location in the dropdown menu, then select whether you are searching by Case Number or Party Name. Enter that data in the appropriate input field, then click the blue Search button to locate the case.
As with the other two search options, you'll need to select the case you have found, then click the Proceed button on the next window. Click the Add To Bulk button on the final window to add the case to your bulk filing.
Once you have a case added to your bulk filing, you should be at the bulk filing dashboard.
To edit the case filing itself, click either the Edit button at the upper right of the case or the case's Actions button to edit a specific part of the case.
You can add another case to your bulk filing using the Actions button at the upper right corner of the screen, or you can add filings to all your cases in one step via the Bulk Add Filings button to the left of the bulk filing's Actions button.
Once you have added all the filings and pertinent data to the existing cases, click the blue Fees button at the lower right to continue.
- NOTE: You may only add up to five documents per case.
At the Bulk Fees page, you can select the payment account you want to use for all your drafts via the Apply Payment Account to All Drafts dropdown menu, then you can click the blue Apply to All button to apply that payment account to all the drafts shown below. You can do the same for the filing attorney via the Apply Filing Attorney to All Drafts dropdown menu (if applicable).
Click the blank checkbox to add a checkmark to any Submission Agreements you must select, then select which individual Parties you are filing for in each case using the Party Responsible for Fees dropdown menu for each draft. You can also adjust the Payment Account and Filing Attorney for each draft, if need be.
Once finished, you may click the Calculate Fees button to show the fee details for your filing. Click the blue Submit button to send your bulk filing to the court(s).
