- NOTE: To cancel a filing, the filing must be in Submitted status.
- NOTE: If you have multiple lead documents in your filing, you will need to complete the steps for each document within the envelope that you are wanting to cancel. To cancel an envelope, ALL the documents in the envelope must be deleted!
- NOTE FOR FIRM FILINGS: Only the individual that submitted a filing can cancel it.
Other firm users cannot cancel another firm user's filings.
To cancel your filing follow the steps below.
- Log into the eFile website.
- At the Dashboard, click on View Filing History.
- Locate the submitted envelope.
- Directly to the right of each filing in the Submitted Envelope will be an X icon. Click on the X icon to Cancel the filing.
**Please note if you have multiple lead documents in your filing you will need to complete the steps for each document within the envelope that you are wanting to cancel.
If the filing is showing Pending, Under Review, or anything other than Submitted, contact the court for assistance.
If the court has taken the action of Accepting the filing, then the filing can no longer be cancelled. Please contact the court if you wish to have the filing removed from the case records.
If you are wanting to cancel an existing case (not an envelope but a case number assigned), it is recommended to contact the court for instructions.
Other Notes:
- Service Only (filing type Serve) filings cannot be cancelled nor recalled.
- A cancelled filing cannot be undone. You can use the copy envelope option if you would like to refile.
- All fees for cancelled filings will be returned to your financial account within 3 to 14 business days once the authorization holds drop away.
- For Firm Accounts, only the firm user who submitted the filing will be able to cancel the envelope.
- You should receive email notifications for canceling a submitted filing. If you do not receive these email notifications, you can double-check the status of these filings in your Filing History. Unfortunately, Public Facing Support representatives cannot resend these email notifications for you.
