This error occurs when all required fields have not been completed in the Filings section.
The screenshot below is an example of an alert a user may see that indicates a required field has not yet been completed.
The following are screenshots indicating examples of the required fields users may need to fill out. These may vary with each state.
Additionally, users may need to ensure that the filename of the document they've uploaded doesn't contain special characters or exceeds 25 characters in length. Please check the description of the document to ensure the description is not too lengthy.
- NOTE: If the user does not see a red triangle error mark next to the uploaded document yet they still get this error message, then the filename of the document is most likely what is causing the problem.
To rename a document, locate it on your computer.
- On Windows: Right-click the document with your mouse and select "Rename" in the context menu that appears. Type in a new name, then click the "Enter" key on your keyboard.
- On Macintosh: Click to highlight the document, then press the "Return" key on your keyboard. Type in a new name, then press "Return" again.
User will first click the Parties tab.
Then click the Filings tab. Click the pencil icon to the right of the Filing that needs attention.
Toggle the Filing Type from eFile And Serve, then back to Service Only or the opposite (if you intend to eFile and Serve).
Scroll down to the Upload Documents section and complete all fields with a red asterisk *.
- Note: If any Additional Services were added, check the Additional Services tab at the top of this page to ensure there were no required fields needing to be selected such as a quantity. If no quantity is available to be selected as well, please remove the service and save to clear the error.
- Note: If any email addresses were entered into any of the fields in the Communications section to ensure that all email addresses were entered correctly.
- Note: Check your File Description for each of your documents. If the description is too long (longer than 100 characters), this can also trigger this error message.
- Note: If you've clicked on "add more" and opened another filing with empty fields, you will get a red triangle. If so, click the trash can icon to the right of the blank filing to remove it.
- Note: If none of the above troubleshooting steps work, return to the Filings page, delete the uploaded filing, then re-upload it.
Click Save and then Service.
