FOR MOST STATES
The Service tab will show all the parties who have elected to have their email available to be electronically served on the case. If you don't see an email under the party then the party has yet to add their email to case.
Add a checkmark to the box to the left of the emails that you want to serve. Uncheck to not serve the service contacts you don't want to serve. Click the Fees button on the lower right hand corner to continue.
Click here if you would like to learn how to add a service contact to a case.
- Please Note: You should NOT add opposing sides as contacts to a case unless you are adding them from the Public List. If they are not on the Public List you will need to serve them through traditional methods. The Public list and Add New option vary by state. See What is the Public List? (Service Contacts)
Once the emails have been checked for service, click on the blue Fees button at the lower left hand corner.
FAQ: If I am starting the case, am I automatically added to the Service Contacts for the case?
Answer: Adding a service contact is a manual action taken by the user. Filing a new case does NOT automatically add your information to the service contacts for the case.
NOTE: If you do not have the email address of the Service Contact you wish to add and you cannot find their contact information via the Public List, you will have to contact the person you wish to add to the Service Contact list and obtain their email address from them. If the Service Contact you wish to add is an organization, you may need to find a public email address for that organization via web search or from the organization's website.
