Users with the Criminal Filing Filer role may initiate criminal cases using the site.
This role is assigned by the State, or someone who is an existing Criminal Firm Administrator. Check with your office for the correct person of contact for your jurisdiction.
-
Note: The EFile Technical Support team will not be able to assign that role.
- Independent (Pro Se) Filers can reach out to the court to have them assign that role to their accounts.
- Firm Filers must obtain the role from their Firm Administrator, if they have the Criminal Firm Administrator role and can assign the Criminal Filer role to members of their Firm account. Firm Administrators can also reach out to the court to have them assign that role to their accounts.
Many criminal case matters can also be Filed as an existing case, try using a case/cause number to search by when filing into the existing case.
If your account has been assigned the Criminal Filer role but you still see no criminal filing options in the Case Information section of your draft for a particular court, please refer to the article below for more information.
