If you can't find your case when you search by case number, try these tips:
- Make sure you search for the case number using the exact format listed on your case documents.
- Double check that you have selected the correct court location to search in. Some courts have multiple locations (District, County, JP, Domestic Relations, Law, Magistrate, State, Superior, etc.).
- Part of the case number usually stands for the year the case was opened. If you searched using a 2-digit year for that part, try the search using a 4-digit year (for example, 2020CV12345). If you used a 4-digit year, try using a 2-digit year (for example, 20CV12345).
- Try your search using party names instead of case number (not available for all courts).
If you still can't find your case and you do NOT see the blue box in the picture below, you must contact the court to check your case number. Some courts need to make the case available on the eFile website.
Note: If the court's Case Management System (CMS) is unavailable, leading to the case not loading, you may also receive a CMS Unavailable message when searching for any case in that court location. A CMS can be unavailable anywhere from a few minutes to indefinitely. It is recommended to contact the court you are filing in if you receive this message for further assistance.

Some courts do not have a link between the eFile site and the court's electronic case management system. If the court you are filing into is one of those courts, you may see the message in the blue box when you can't find your case number and the case has not been e-filed into yet.
To e-file into your case, click the grey I DON'T SEE MY CASE button.
The "I Don't See My Case" page will prompt you to confirm the Location and Case number format. It is recommended to use the case number format given from any court correspondence or paperwork. Click the I UNDERSTAND, CONTINUE button.
Fill out the required fields. If you don't know which Category or Case Type to select, contact the court you are filing into. Note: Some case types have fees listed in their names. You will NOT be charged any fees listed next to the name of the case type. Those are fees charged to start a case, but you are not starting a case.
You must enter all parties on the case. For information about entering parties, click here.
When the court gets your filing, the clerk will check the case number. After the court accepts your filing, the next time you search for the case number on the eFile site, your case will come up. You won't have to select the Category and Case Type or enter the parties again.
