Electronic email service of filings can be done on cases where parties have listed their email on the case service contact list.

For more information, please select one of the following options:
FOR MOST STATES
At the Dashboard, click on Start Filing.
Select the Court Location of the case, enter the Case Number (or Party Name, if available), then click the Search button.
Click the Actions button to the right side of the case, then select File Into Case.
At the Filings tab, click on the + Add Filing button.
In the Edit Filing Details modal, you must first select a Filing Type. The options eFile Only, eFile and Serve, and Serve Only will appear. Of those options, only eFile and Serve or Service Only will allow you to electronically serve your filings.
- eFile and Serve will send your filings to the court and also serve them electronically on any service contacts you select in the Service Contacts section.
- Service Only will not send your documents to the court but will serve them electronically on any service contacts you select in the Service Contacts section.
Please Note: Depending on the court/type of filing, the Filing Type Options may vary (ex: EFile may be the only option for certain types of filings).
Next, select the Filing Code (if eFile and Serve is selected as your Filing Type) in the Filing Information section. Click the Select File button for the Lead Document or Service Document (which only appears if Serve Only is selected).
Take action on any other required input fields (denoted by a red asterisk *). Click Save at the lower right hand corner. Once back at the Filings tab, click the Service button to continue.
The next section is the Service tab. The Service section will show all the parties who have elected to have their email available to be electronically served on the case. If you don't see an email under the party then the party has yet to add their email to case.
Check the emails that you want to serve. Uncheck to not serve the service contact. Click the Fees button on the lower right hand corner to continue.
If no emails have been added to the case, click the Add button at the upper right corner of the screen and select Add Me to add your information to the Service Contacts list.
Your state's eFiling website might also have the option to add a Service Contact from the Public List option from the Add dropdown menu.

Please Note: You should NOT add opposing sides as contacts to a case unless you are adding them from the Public List. If they are not on the Public List, you will need to serve them through traditional methods. The Public list and Add New option vary by state.

Once the email contacts are checked to Serve, click on Fees.
Click all required fields in the Fees section. Click on Summary to continue.
In the Summary tab, review all the information and then click Submit.
FOR LOUSIAINA
At the Dashboard, click on Start Filing.
Select the Location of the case.
Click on File into Existing Case
Enter the case number or party name. Click Search.
On the right side, click on the folder icon to File into the Case.
At the Documents Tab, click on Browse or drag files to upload documents. The uploaded documents will appear listed above the Browse button. When all relevant documents are uploaded, click on Case Information or Skip To Filings.
At the Filings tab, click on the Filing Type box. The options of EFile, EFile And Serve, and Serve will appear in the drop down menu.
- EFile will only send your filings to the court. It will not serve your filings on the other parties on the case.
- EFile And Serve will send your filings to the court and also serve them electronically on any service contacts you select in the Service Contacts section.
- Serve will not send your documents to the court but will serve them electronically on any service contacts you select in the Service Contacts section.

In the Filing Type box, select either EFileAndServe or Serve. Select the Filing Code(if EFileAndServe is selected).
