Sometimes, efiling outages occur and users cannot use either specific functions on the website or the website itself. Some filers - especially legal professionals - may require proof of these outages if they were not able to file into a case on time.
One way Tyler Technologies offers proof of outages is by sending iContacts email notices to filers. Typically, these email notices inform users of upcoming changes and upgrades to the efiling site, but they may also be sent out to notify users of efiling outages. These email notifications may be used as proof of efiling outages that may be submitted to the court as needed.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: Filers should refrain from unsubscribing to these email notifications. Once a filer unsubscribes from these iContact notifications, they cannot resubscribe!
Another way Tyler Technologies offers proof of outages is by posting outage notices to the Landing Page (the page that appears before a filer logs into the system) of the efiling site. If the outage only affects one aspect of the efiling system and not the entire site while still negatively impacting filers' ability to efile, these notices may be used as proof of an outage. Filers may take screenshots of the Landing Page containing the notice or print out a hardcopy of the Landing Page to submit to the court as needed.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: If the entire efiling site has been affected and the website isn't loading properly, the aforementioned iContact email notifications may be the only proof of an outage filers may obtain.
