Some courts will instruct users to add a fee to a filing that has already been submitted/accepted. If the filing is already accepted, this is not possible through EFile without refiling. Please check with your court for instructions on paying fees after your filing has been accepted.
If the court advised you to add additional fees or optional services to an accepted filing using our website, this article will show you how to do so.
1.) File into the case like normal.
The first step you'll want to take is to file into the existing case.
- To search for the case you need to file in, click this link: How To File Into an Existing Case?
- To file into your existing case from your Filing History, click this link: How To File Into an Existing Case from the Filing History
2.) Submit an Amended Filing.
The efiling system requires users to upload a document before they may add additional fees or optional services, so select "Amended Filing" or something similar as the Filing Code and re-upload the accepted document. (Contact the court to confirm that this is the correct Filing Code for your situation before using it. If you do not see this Filing Code as an option, please contact the clerks at the court your case has been filed into for the appropriate Filing Code.)
- For more information, please click this link: How to Submit an Amended Filing
3.) Select your additional fees
Once you have uploaded the file and selected the appropriate file security (if necessary), click the "Add Optional Services & Fees" button to select the fees you must add.
- For more information, please click this link: Where Can I Add More Fees Before Submission?
Once you have selected your fees and saved your changes, you may continue filing to submission as normal.
If the filing is still in submitted status, you may cancel the filing and refile with the fee attached. To see instructions on canceling a filing in the site, click this link: How Do I Cancel My Filing?
