FOR MOST STATES
Clicking the Reset Password link at the sign in page (after clicking the blue Sign into your account button) is the easiest way to access your eFile account if your password does not work.
If you are locked out of your account because the password was entered incorrectly too many times, you may use the Reset Password link on the sign-in page. This same step can be followed if you forgot your password. Once you reset your password, that will unlock your account and you will be able to sign back into your account.
NOTE: In North Carolina, the Email field is labelled User ID instead (as shown below). Do not be confused by this difference in nomenclature; the User ID is still your email address.

KEEP IN MIND...
Please note...
- You can use the same password as you had used before.
- Please Note: If you do not have access to the registered user's email, you may need to register a new account, as the reset password link can only be sent to the registered user's email.
- Please Note: If you have not yet registered an account with the efile website with the email address you are trying to login with, you will receive an "Invalid username or password" error message just as if you needed to reset your password. You may need to register an account using the email address you are trying to log in with.
Still having trouble signing in? Check the following:
- Please verify you are on the correct web address by going to www.filenow.me clicking on efile and serve and then your state.
